SOCIAL MEDIA CLUB STARTED IN CACHE VALLEY
Local chapter opens for general public
LOGAN, UTAH—The Social Media Club recently opened a local chapter in Cache Valley, after three men attended a meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah. Preston Parker, president of the SMCCV, said the purpose of opening up a local chapter was to help people gain knowledge in the world of social media, create networks and educate individuals who wanted to learn more about social media in general.
Just three years old, the global, non-profit organization has over 2,600 members on their Facebook homepage.
The SMCCV started off with six board members and in their first official meeting this August, had 22 people in attendance. Parker hopes to see it grow.
Anybody is welcome to the meetings, Parker says. They are held the second Thursday of every month at varying times and locations. Guest Speakers and open-forums will differ every month.
